After a litter is born I will contact those on the list by order they contacted me. At that time they will be given the list of available puppies and have a short time to make a decision.
They may either:
(1) choose a puppy and put a non-refundable $400 deposit down
(2) decide to wait for another litter and maintain a higher pick order on the list
(3) remove their name from the waiting list.
There is no risk to be on the list but I do ask that if you decide not to get a puppy from First and Ten Springers that you let me know promptly. That way those contemplating getting on the waiting list have a better idea what their chance is of getting a puppy.
All available puppies come with tails docked and dewclaws removed. If you desire for your puppy to keep it's tail and/or dew claws, you must contact us before the puppies are born and we will need your $500 deposit before the puppies are born. Tail docking and dew claw removal cannot happen after the first 3 days of life.
Available puppies are ready for pick up at 8 weeks of age. If you have not contacted us by the time your puppy is 8 weeks old to make pickup arrangements we will assume that you are no longer able to get the puppy, your deposit will be forfeited, and the puppy will be put back up for adoption. We will make every effort to contact you before we proceed with putting the puppy back up for adoption.
If for some reason you are unable to pick up the puppy at 8 weeks we will keep them free of charge until they are 9 weeks old. After 9 weeks we charge $20 per day plus any vet fees to keep them up to date on vaccines.
All puppies will be up to date on vaccines, vet checked, microchipped, and wormed bi-weekly. All puppies are sent home with a Puppy Pack. The pack includes AKC registration paperwork, shot record, pedigree, a blanket with the mother’s scent, a small toy, a food/water dish, and a food sample.
We do ask that when you pick up your puppy, you leave any other dogs in the car as to not transmit any illnesses to the puppies.
Final payment is due at the time you pick up your puppy in cash or via Venmo. We do not accept checks or credit cards.
We do allow Roman to be used as a stud to approved females. I guarantee your puppy against any life-threatening genetic defects for one year. Should your Springer Spaniel puppy develop a life-threatening genetic defect, it will have to be examined by my veterinarian (I will not pay for shipping/ vet fees.). If my veterinarian confirms the defect you have two options:
At First and Ten Springer Spaniels, we put a lot of time and effort into raising your future companion. These puppies and their parents are our family. If you choose to bring them into your home, understand it can be a 10-20 year relationship. If you are interested in purchasing one of our puppies, you will need to think of the financial obligation. A puppy is going to cost you thousands of dollars over the course of it's lifetime. A puppy is a financial commitment, not a spur of the moment decision. When you adopt them, you are promising to give them your love for the rest of their life. You will give them plenty of food, proper veterinary care, a warm shelter from the weather and plenty of exercise. And most importantly, you will give them lots of love and attention. In the event you can no longer keep them, you must provide them with a wonderful new home. If you can not find one, I expect you will bring the dog back to First and Ten. If you have any doubts about your ability to provide this, please allow someone else to adopt them instead.
